EVENT DETAILS
From March 1 - April 27, 2024 Unique Photo in Philadelphia, PA will be hosting a pinhole photography exhibition in partnership with the NJ Pinhole Club. Each NJPC member will showcase their work at the event, and we would like to extend an invitation to our friends around the world to join us and show your work alongside us. Everyone who submits to this open call will be featured in a digital slideshow at the exhibition. Those who submit can opt into being a part of the physical exhibition. There will be spots for 10 artists to showcase their physical prints on the wall with us. Details about how to submit below.
OPEN CALL DETAILS:
Deadline: January 7, 2024
We will be organizing the exhibition with an open ended theme of “time and space”.
EVERYONE who submits work will be featured at the exhibit in a digital slideshow on a big screen tv. 🎉 This slideshow will also be posted on YouTube.
Only pinhole photographs will be accepted.
ONE submission each to be sent through an electronic form. (Details Below)
You have the option of being a part of the jury process to have your work selected to be physically hung on the wall at the exhibition.
Chris Marinari and Sharon Harris from the NJ Pinhole Club will work together to select 10 artworks from the submissions to be exhibited on the wall. These 10 selected artists will need to pay a small fee which will cover the cost of printing and mounting the work for you. (This is different from last year. More info below.)
The 10 selected artists will be notified by January 27 and payments will be due shortly after. (More info below.)
Exhibition Dates: March 1 - April 27, 2024 with a formal opening reception on March 9 from 1-4pm and First Fridays showcase events on March 1 from 5-8pm and April 5 from 5-8pm.
Photo Walk: On Saturday, April 27, 2024 meet at the 4th floor gallery at 12:30 to see the exhibition one last time, then at 1:00 follow the NJ Pinhole Club on a Photo Walk through Philadelphia, ending at Love City Brewery for a celebratory drink. We’ll head back to Unique Photo around 3:30pm.

HOW TO SUBMIT:
Prepare a high quality digital file of your submission with the following specifications: Must be JPEG. File Name must be “Last Name_First Name.jpg”
Click on the submission form below. Fill out your information and attach your photograph. Hit submit!
Remember the deadline is January 7th!

To reduce complications and cost of internationally shipping artwork, we are trying something new this year that is inspired by our pinhole friends in Argentina and Mexico. If your work is selected through the jury process you will not need to ship your framed artwork to the gallery. Instead, for a small cost, we will print your work and mount it onto foam core board for the exhibition. If sold, you will receive the full amount of the sale. If unsold your work will remain in the hands of the NJ Photo Club.
You can choose to have your mounted print be approx. 8”x12” for $12 USD or approx 12”x18” for $28 USD. Selected Artists will receive information about how to submit payment.
***No payments need to be made to submit your work. This is a free open call! These prices are ONLY for the artists selected through the optional jury process to be a part of the physical exhibition.***
